10TH ANNUAL NBSU CONFERENCE

Dear NBSU Colleagues :

           The 10th Annual National Black Student Union Conference, Lincolnshire Resort, Lincolnshire, Illinois, November 16-18, 2007 is a testament to the commitment of BSU Advisors and BSU Executive Committees to host an annual forum that connects BSUs across America.  The first two conferences, 1998/1999, were held at UW-Whitewater.  The next two, 2000/2001, were held in Chicago and the past five, 2002-2006, were in Wisconsin.  We hope that the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort location, 19 miles from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, will be encouraging to BSUs.

            As in the past nine years, the expanded conference agenda comes from the prior year evaluation.  The noted workshops and professional sessions have been carefully selected to enhance your personal and professional development.  The Board of Directors, Office of NBSU, plans to continue growing by implementing a series of BSU forums: Southeast 2008; Northeast 2009; Northwest 2010; Southwest 2010.  These forums will help us to reach BSUs who are unable to attend the annual NBSU Conference.

            The 5th Annual NEON Corporate Fair will be November 16, 2007, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Students should send an electronic copy of their resume to neoncorporatefair@lycos.com by November 1, 2007, and wear professional attire to the event.

            We look forward to your presence and participation in the 10th Annual NBSU Conference.  Please register and reserve your hotel room early.  Early registration enables us to confirm “BSU Best Practice” teams and conference moderators.
